Good afternoon,
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Andrew Coughlin, a
former member of staff who served Lliswerry High School with exceptional dedication for
thirty seven years.
Andrew was Head of PE and Head of Key Stage 3, and he was an integral part of the
school for nearly four decades. He was a true team player who always placed our learners
at the heart of everything he did.
As a valued member of our pastoral team, Andrew supported learners as they began their
journey at Lliswerry High School, guiding them with his own style of encouragement and
his trademark mix of humour and honesty. He helped countless young people reach their
potential and made a lasting difference to their lives.
He dedicated many years to coaching school sports teams, inspiring learners through his
enthusiasm and the pride he took in their achievements. He also played a significant role
in developing the PE teachers who have served and continue to serve at Lliswerry High
School, sharing his experience and shaping the team for future generations.
He will be remembered by staff and families alike; he had a postive impact on the lives of
so many members of our school community.
If you would like to share your memories please add them to the memorial page which we
will later share with Andrew’s family https://lliswerryhigh.org/memorial/
Andrew will be fondly remembered for his team spirit, his work ethic and his unwavering
belief in young people. His legacy will remain a part of Lliswerry High School for many
years to come.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
Thank you for keeping them in your thoughts.
