All learners are required to take internal or external assessment at various stages in their academic journey. Assessments can be:
* an examination taken in the classroom as part of their coursework or to consolidate learnt information.
* used to prepare learners for an examination.
* an examination which will lead to the learner receiving a certificate of achievement (BTEC / GCSE / GCE).
Taking assessments (examinations) can be a very stressful time for learners, it is very important that they familiarise themselves with some of the rules and regulations that govern how they approach certain aspects of the assessment.
Information regarding internal/external assessment and external examination will be provided in advance to all participating learners.

All learners are required to wear school uniform for all types of assessments. Learners are also responsible for bringing the necessary equipment to the assessments.
Equipment required for written examinations:
* Black pen
* Pencils
* Ruler
* Coloured Pencils
* Calculator – Sciences, Maths and Geography
* Protractor – Maths and Geography
All of the above materials are to be kept in a clear pencil case.
